Summer may be over but that doesn’t mean that the fun is! This week we are showing you why you should be excited that October is here:
1. Hiking & cycling
Now it’s the perfect weather to go hiking in the mountains as it is not boiling hot nor freezing cold. Discover the beautiful landscape of the Tramuntana range either by foot or bike, or if you’re brave enough why not try canyoning?
2. Beach time
Now it’s the best time to go to the beach, as the beaches are not full of people and the weather is still pleasant enough to keep that tan going!
3. Oktoberfest
We may have imported this from Germany, but everyone likes a good excuse to drink beer and Mallorcans are no less! Head to either Son Fusteret, Santa Ponça or Arenal for some German fun, pick your favourite venue or try all three!
4. Fairs
Calling out to all market lovers out there, it’s fair season in Mallorca again! Starting with the one in Alcudia this weekend, there are fairs on every weekend from now until Christmas. Our favourites this month are the Esporles Sweet Fair on 4th October, the Autumn Fair in Peguera 10-11th October, the story telling fair in Buger (perfect for kids!) and the Autumn Fair in Consell on 18th October.
5. Palma Marathon
The Palma Marathon is back on 18th October. There will be a marathon, half marathon, 10 k and nordic walking events and it’s not too late to register, so grab your running shoes and start training!
6. TaPalma 2015
TaPalma is back and it’s bigger and better! This great tapas festival is back from 8th and 11th October, with even more restaurants and bars participating in it. This year’s festival will also be introducing a new ‘tapas & shopping’ concept with many shops staying open until late at night so you can buy that bag you’ve been eyeing for some time while indulging in some small pieces of Spanish heaven!
7. Halloween
Let’s not forget THE most important event this month, Halloween! Although it is also a celebration that has been imported from abroad, Halloween is now hugely popular on the island and you will find a great selection of parties to attend, both for adults and children.
